This is good news for the scientific community, as it provides Uruguay with a standardized regulatory framework that enhances the protection and international recognition of microorganism deposits, while promoting cooperation and innovation in the field of biotechnology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the benefits of the treaty include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promotion of international patent protection. The 89 countries that are part of the treaty can use recognized microorganism deposits for international patent applications.
